‘That thing can run’: Pirates legend praises Sebelebele
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi claims the decision to sell Kamogelo Sebelebele to Orlando Pirates was not just about money.

The 23-year-old attacker was the Buccaneers’ 12th signing of the season. Since joining Pirates, the speedy winger has netted three times in six matches and has no doubt been the best signing of the season so far.

Speaking to Soccer Laduma, the Galaxy boss said he felt Sebelebele has a better chance to play for Bafana Bafana as a Pirates player.

“We just recently transferred Sebelebele to Orlando Pirates. He has been a consistent performer at our club for at least the last two seasons. People may think it was just money. No! Money, yes, is a good part of it, but the truth is Sebelebele has been giving the same level of performance at TS Galaxy, but he never made the main squad (Bafana Bafana) and he was never going to make it,” Sukazi told Soccer Laduma.

Sebelebele has scored three times in six games for Pirates

“What then do you do? Do you keep this talent here because you need it or because you that you can, or find ways of allowing the young man to have the opportunity to realise his best potential? And the best way can’t be better than him playing for a big club,” the TS Galaxy boss added.

“He went to Orlando Pirates. On a 60 percent performance of what he was doing here, he will be in the national team. He will make the Bafana Bafana main squad. He has shown that he is currently the best winger in the league and no national team coach can’t afford to have such a player, otherwise it would be a travesty.

Can Sebelebele bring his Pirates form to Bafana?

“”So, you transfer a player like that for those reasons as well, for his own sake and career. Never mind your own interests.”

How good has Sebelebele been?
