Stellenbosch & Sundowns Starting XIs Confirmed

Stellenbosch FC and Mamelodi Sundowns have announced their starting line-up for this afternoon’s Betway Premiership clash at the Athlone Stadium.

Stellies aim to take home advantage this afternoon when they face the reigning champions. The Cape Winelands side managed to get their first win midweek, beating Marumo Gallants by 1-0 at Danie Craven Stadium.

They hope the impressive week continues, after Steve Barker’s side also managed to secure their spot in the MTN8 final. They scored two goals in the four league matches and conceded four goals.

Sundowns seem to be under pressure, even though they haven’t lost a match this season. The Tshwane giants come to this game on the back of a goalless draw against Kaizer Chiefs – their fourth this campaign already.

Miguel Cardoso’s side scored five goals in the league and conceded only one, which was against Chippa United in their opening match.

Sundowns has been dominating this fixture, winning four matches and losing one, while there has never been a goalless draw between the two sides.

Here is how they line up:

Stellenbosch XI: Stephens, Moloisane, Stanic, Kazie, Mdaka, Jabaar, Khiba,De Jong, Lekoloane, Mthiyane, Titus

Subs: Masuluke, Nkwali, Mokobodi, Palace, Butsaka, Nku, Khanyi, Mojela, Phili

Sundowns XI: Williams, Morena, Modiba, Cupido, Khoza, Allende, Aubaas, Letlhaku, Sales, Matthews, Shalulile

Subs: Pietersen, Lebusa, Mdunyelwa, Basadien, Lunga, Mokoena, Adams, Rayners, Mothiba
