‘Stellenbosch are going to win that cup’ – Junior Khanye

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has tipped Stellenbosch FC to win the MTN8 final against Orlando Pirates.

The two teams play each other on Saturday evening at the Mbombela Stadium. Last year, the Buccaneers won against the same team in the final to claim their third consecutive MTN8 title.

Despite Pirates’ impressive cup record, Khanye has backed Stellenbosch to take the MTN8 this year.

“Stellenbosch are going to surprise so many people. I don’t trust the Orlando Pirates coach even though he’s got the players. There is no team in South Africa currently that has a team like them, I admit. They play exciting football but question mark is their coach,” he told iDiski TV.

Stellenbosch win on penalties, says Junior Khanye

The former PSL attacker urged Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou to start the final with Tshegofatso Mabasa instead of Evidence Makgopa.

“He doesn’t have the guts to decide on his number nine. Evidence doesn’t score goal, let him sit this one out. He must play Mabasa, he’ll score for you like last year,” Khanye added.

“The match will end either 1-1 or 0-0, write this one down and Stellies will surprise everyone on penalties.”

Khanye said that even though Pirates have been successful in penalty shootouts, Stellenbosch will surprise them on Saturday.
