Rivals Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to deliver a spectacular Soweto derby when they clash at sold-out FNB Stadium this weekend.

The Sea Robbers host Amakhosi in the Joburg-based venue with the crucial Betway Premiership points and bragging rights at stake.

The match will kick off at 15:30. Here Hollywoodbets Sports brings you everything you need to know about the highly-anticipated match.

The Buccaneers are fighting to stay close in the race for the Betway Premiership title while Amakhosi are on a mission to redeem themselves after a poor display last season.

Soccer Bullet looks at possible key battles between the two historic clubs of local football.

Will it be the favourites or the underdog? Soweto derby divides football fraternity

Pirates will head to the meeting as favourites to claim maximum points against their bitter rivals, but the Buccaneers will know that form doesn’t always count when it comes to the Soweto derby.

It normally comes down to the side that is determined to fight with dedication from all fronts and several times the underdog reigned supreme.

Chiefs players will draw a lot of confidence from that when they go up against a well-oiled machine that is Pirates.

The Jose Riveiro-coached outfit have had an almost perfect season so far, winning the MTN8, qualifying for the Caf Champions League quarterfinals and being in the top two of the Betway Premiership.

Pirates understand they can’t afford to drop points as they need to keep in the race for the league’s top honours where they are competing with defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

On the other hand, Amakhosi want all the points to remain on the right side of the log table and avoid a repeat of last season where they finished in 10th place.
