Simba SC are on the lookout for a new head coach with TS Galaxy Technical Director Nermin Bašić among the names linked with the hotseat.
Following the exit of Dimitar Pantev, who lasted less than two months in charge of the club as he succeeded Fadlu Davids, the Tanzanian giants are once again seeking a new leader.
Davids left the club for a return to Morocco with Raja Athletic Club after finishing second and reaching the CAF Confederation Cup final last season.
The likes of Steve Barker have also been mooted as a potential target in Tanzanian media, as well as several high-profile coaches in North Africa as they look to stabilise the project started under their former coach Davids.
Bašić, who has over two decades of coaching experience and a UEFA Licensed lecturer in three countries, started his head coaching journey at the age of 27, leading a top-flight club in his home country.
Since then, he worked in five countries at 10 different clubs, which included a stint at Girabola giants C.D. Primeiro de Agosto, while his last head coaching role came with Bosnian Premier League side FK Željezničar, where they competed in the UEFA Conference League.
Having then moved to South Africa to work at TS Galaxy as the Technical Director, working in tandem with head coach Adnan Beganovic, the recent success of the club has notably attracted interest in their technical set-up.
While Simba are said to be keen on maintaining a modern, youthful coaching set-up, it remains to be seen in which direction they take, as the club now has an opportunity to figure their new direction during the mid-season break for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
