Simba Coach On How They Plan To Expose Chiefs

AS Simba head coach Daoula Lupembe expects Kaizer Chiefs to come at them full throttle in the return leg which should give them room to expose the hosts.

Simba are CAF inter-club competition debutants in the club’s history after gaining promotion in 2018/19 season from Linafoot Ligue 2. They qualified for the CAFCC after winning Coupe de Congo in July.

Lupembe wasn’t pleased with the goalless draw against Chiefs stating that they needed to score to at least play the return leg in an advantage.

He also mentioned that they need to take their chances in the second leg or keep the game at 0-0.

“It’s a match that will stick in my craw, with a feeling of unfinished business. Because we can learn something from the content. My players are new to this competition, but given what they put forward on the pitch, I have little to be ashamed of,” Lupembe told the media according to FootDRC.

“What I feared happened – not scoring. We have a defensive base, but we still need to score to win matches. We competed, and what happened today [Saturday] can also happen in South Africa.

“I can’t be satisfied with just this match, because there’s a second one. We’re going to play against a team that’s going to try to score, so that’s going to come. But when a team attacks, it exposes itself.

“And if we can be sharp on our few chances, because we have the ability to create them, it can hurt. I’m looking positively to the future.”
