Orlando Pirates captain Nkosinathi Sibisi has made a bold claim that they have no intention to relinquish their MTN8 trophy ahead of this weekend’s final against Stellenbosch FC.
The 29-year-old has made just one appearance this season which was in the 2-0 Wafa Wafa quarterfinal win over Polokwane City and has been a notable absentee in their two-legged semifinal showdown against Mamelodi Sundowns.
‘Bhodlela’ has since shared his thoughts as they prepare for Stellies in their quest for a record fourth consecutive MTN8 trophy.
“Preparations for the game are going well, he told the club’s website.
“It’s good to be back training with the players again. It’s been a positive week for us, and we are looking forward to creating history in front of a full Mbombela.
“It’s never easy whenever you are injured. In terms of selection, I am ready for the weekend.
In his absence, prodigy defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi has not disappointed putting in a string of fine performances and Sibisi has taken time to credit him for the great shift he has put in.
“Credit to Mbokazi for the way he has been leading the team in my absence,” he added.
“Kudos to him for what he’s been doing for both the club and the national team. As a group, we embrace competition and will do everything to create history and keep the cup. After all, it is our cup.”
