Shandu On Pirates Mandate After CBLC Win

Posted on December 16, 2025

Orlando Pirates midfielder Bandile Shandu has affirmed that their mandate is to win every trophy on offer this campaign.

The Buccaneers made it three trophies in just seven months after clinching the MTN8, Carling Knockout Cup and the Carling Black Label Cup this past weekend.

After becoming the first team to win the Carling Black Label Cup, with the All-Stars team having won the past two editions, Shandu explained how winning every trophy available is what they’re striving towards.

“It was very important to win this cup because we were gonna be the first team to win it,” Shandu told OP TV.

“So, it was very important for us; it was the mandate, and it just shows that as a team, as a club, we just wanna win everything that’s on the plate for us.

“The cups that we’ve won is a first step closer to that.

“Truly grateful for the Orlando Pirates fans. They are very, very important to us. We cherish them, we grateful for them and this one is for them.

“We wanna keep them smiling, we wanna keep them happy and this is for them.”

The Soweto giants are still within a chance of a quadruple with the Betway Premiership and then the Nedbank Cup the two other trophies yet to be claimed.
