Shabalala Welcomes New Chiefs Signings Ahead of Fresh Season

Kaizer Chiefs’ rising star Mduduzi Shabalala has shared his enthusiasm about the club’s new signings, saying he’s eager to link up with both fresh recruits and promoted academy talents this season.

The 20-year-old attacker, speaking to the club’s media team, described the new arrivals as bringing “positive energy” to the squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

“The new players have brought great energy to training,” Shabalala said. “I’m really excited to develop our understanding on the pitch and see what we can achieve together.”

Chiefs have been active in the transfer market, bringing in experienced players while also promoting several standouts from their DStv Diski Challenge team. This dual approach reflects the club’s commitment to blending ready-made talent with homegrown prospects.

As a graduate of Chiefs’ youth system himself, Shabalala understands the value of the club’s academy pipeline. “These young players come in hungry to prove themselves,” he noted. “That competition raises everyone’s game, which is exactly what we need.”

With the club determined to end their long trophy drought, the preseason buzz at Naturena suggests renewed optimism. As Chiefs prepare for their opening league match later this month, much attention will focus on how quickly the rebuilt squad adapts to the team’s new playing philosophy.

“This is a fresh start for all of us,” Shabalala added. “We want to play exciting football, reward our fans’ patience, and most importantly, bring trophies back to Kaizer Chiefs.”
