Shabalala On Scoring In Broos’s Presence

Posted on November 4, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs’ two-goal hero Mduduzi Shabalala has vowed to keep working hard after learning that Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos was in attendance at FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Shabalala scored a brace as Amakhosi thumped Orbit College 4-1 to move second on the Betway Premiership standings equal on points (22) with leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

Speaking to SuperSport TV in his post-match interview, ‘Mdu or Die’ touched on their conversion this season and how he has been able to make his chances count.

“I’d like to thank Kaizer Chiefs for giving us the opportunity to play for this big team,” he said.

“For me, it hasn’t been an easy season in terms of goals and assists, and I’m glad today it came and we managed to score four goals for the first time this season.”

On being included in the Bafana preliminary squad to face Zambia in a friendly international ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations next month.

“Yeah, I did my job today and everything lies on the coach [Broos],” he added.

“And any decision [from coach Broos] I will take, and I will keep working hard.”
