Posted on October 21, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs will to return to league action when they take on Siwelele FC at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday.

Chiefs set to take on Siwelele

It has been a struggle for Chiefs to win games at the FNB Stadium of late. They will undoubtedly be looking to turning things around in their midweek fixture. Their last two games at home saw them draw to both AmaZulu FC as well as Marumo Gallants.

In both games, Chiefs continued their struggles to score more than one goal. They will be hoping for a change of fortunes when Siwelele become their latest visitors. Ahead of the game, the club’s website issued both good and bad news on the injury front.

Seven players out

“The medical team are currently managing a growing injury list, with George Matlou, Ethan Chislett, Paseka Mako, Bontle Molefe, Given Msimango, and Rushwin Dortley all sidelined. Msimango and Dortley, in particular, have been out for extended periods, posing selection challenges for the technical team.” Chiefs said on their website.

Furthermore, co-coach Cedric Kaze also added that Thabiso Monyane might not be ready to play this week. But it was not all doom and gloom for Chiefs who followed up with two positive updates.

Five available

“Despite these setbacks, there’s a silver lining. The squad is seeing a wave of recoveries that could bolster the team in the coming games. Lebohang Maboe, Etiosa Ighodaro, and Nkanyiso Shinga are edging closer to full match fitness, offering the coaching staff a welcome selection dilemma.” The Chiefs website continued.

Those three names adding to the duo of ex-Cape Town Spurs duo who Asanele Velebayi and Luke Baartman. Both attackers have since been cleared to begin their Chiefs careers and could make their debuts against Siwelele.
