Serious message sent to Kaizer Chiefs striker

Kaizer Chiefs’ latest striker, Etiosa Ighodaro, has yet to smell the club’s match jersey, but already the pressure is building.

It is coming from someone who’s been there before, Lehlohonolo Majoro.

The former Kaizer Chiefs striker has sent a simple message to the Nigerian: signing the contract is easy, proving you deserve the shirt is the real job.

ETIOSA IGHODARO TO KAIZER CHIEFS

Ighodaro’s Betway Premiership tour is well known. The 24-year-old striker was signed by Mamelodi Sundowns before he became a loan journeyman: AmaTuks, Chippa United, SuperSport United, and, most recently AmaZulu FC. Along the way, he managed 25 goals in 97 PSL games.

Those are decent numbers, but as Majoro reminds him, Kaizer Chiefs strikers aren’t judged by decent.’ They’re judged by whether they can set stadiums alight.

“Well, being signed is one thing, but coming in and executing yourself is another. I’m saying this because I was once signed by Chiefs from AmaZulu FC due to my performance at AmaZulu,” Majoro FARPost‘s Mauwane Raophala.

“I still had to prove my worth within the team. I think that is all that is needed in football. You move from one club to another, encountering a new opportunity and a new environment. Therefore, you have to deliver because it is your job to prove why you are there in the first place.

“I can only wish him all the best of luck and congratulate him on signing with a team of Kaizer Chiefs’ calibre. The only thing he has to do is go there, play, and show the Chiefs fans why he is there,” Majoro concluded.
