Orlando Pirates will look to reclaim their top spot in the Betway Premiership when they face Sekhukhune United this weekend.
The Buccaneers have had a brilliant 2025/26 season so far, winning the MTN8, Carling Knockout Cup and Carling Black Label Cup.
Under Abdeslam Ouaddou, the Buccaneers finished the year top of the log and are favourites to win the league for the first time in 14 years. A six-week break could push them further or break the momentum they built since September last year.
The Buccaneers did not have it easy after suffering back-to-back defeats in their opening league games. It was Sekhukhune United who handed Orlando Pirates their first defeat of the season.
Babina Noko are looking to get back into the title picture after topping the log for three months. They are just three points behind the Buccaneers, and a win this weekend could see them take second spot, behind log leader Mamelodi Sundowns, who edged out Magesi FC to go top on Monday.
When are Orlando Pirates playing Sekhukhune?
The Buccaneers travel to Polokwane to face Sekhukhune United on Saturday afternoon at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. Kick off is scheduled for 15:30.
A win for Pirates will put them back on top of the Betway Premiership, but a draw will leave them in second, level on points with Masandawana. Defeat will give the hosting team an advantage in the second half of the season.
Sekhukhune have beaten Orlando Pirates in their last two league matches and will fancy their chances of getting a third win on Saturday afternoon.
