New Orlando Pirates signing Kamogelo Sebelebele has expressed his delight after scoring the equalizer on his starting debut in their MTN8 semifinal first leg encounter at Orlando Stadium.
The Buccaneers fell behind to Teboho Mokoena’s 36th minute header and had to wait till the 87th minute as Sebelebele outpaced the Sundowns defenders on the far right before slotting past Ronwen Williams to make it 1-1 on the day ahead of the second leg.
According to the former TS Galaxy winger, giving up was not an option and even though they are disappointed that they did not win the game, they believe a win is still possible in the return leg.
“It was not an easy game, and it was my first time starting,” he told OP TV.
“So, it wasn’t easy, but I pushed. After they [Sundowns] scored, I still didn’t give up. I had a feeling we would score and win the game.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t win this game, but we will try and push so that we can win the second leg.
“And we couldn’t afford to lose this game because it would’ve meant that we lose two games in succession.
“So, we have to come back and win. This is Orlando Pirates.
“The Orlando Pirates that people know has to make a comeback.”
