Sebelebele Cracker Secures First Pirates Win

Posted on August 21, 2025

Orlando Pirates secured their first Betway Premiership win of the season beating Stellenbosch FC 1-0 at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night.

Oswin Appollis got the Buccaneers off to a bright start hitting the upright after a sublime pass from Relebohile Mofokeng just three minutes in.

Pirates then took the lead in the 15th minute through Kamogelo Sebelebele’s wonder strike from outside the box into the top corner to make it 1-0.

Sage Stephens was again called into action tipping over Sihle Nduli’s 22nd minute effort from range.

In the 57th minute, Lebone Seema delivered an excellent diagonal ball for Deon Hotto, who rushed his attempt at goal with only Stephens to beat.

Sebelebele almost grabbed his brace in the 62nd minute but saw his effort sailing just inches wide.

Substitute Khomotjo Lekoloane unleashed a venomous shot at Sipho Chaine in the 70th minute but the goalminder was up to the task.

The Buccaneers defence stood firm despite Stellies’ late onslaught to collect maximum points and move away from the danger zone.
