Saleng and Kimvuidi could return to rescue the ship

Orlando Pirates could very well recall Monnapule Saleng and Karim Kimvuidi should the need arise.

The two are among the players the club loaned out this season as new head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou looks to trim down the squad.

After not featuring for two matches this season, Kimvuidi resurfaced in Israel and it was later reported that he had joined FC Ashdod on loan. The 23-year-old Congolese midfielder made his debut in Israel last Saturday in a Cup game against Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Orlando Pirates stated on Thursday that Kimvuidi joined Ashdood on a one-season loan deal with the option of a permanent transfer.

“After receiving a glimpse of his abilities in the last game – the Congolese midfielder Karim Kimwedi signed with the club until the end of the season on loan with an option to purchase for another three years,” Ashdod wrote.

“The 23-year-old attacking midfielder who can also play on the wings comes to us from Orlando Pirates, whose team has won two trophies in the last two years in the South African Premier League.”

Will Orlando Pirates need Kimvuidi?

With injuries and players struggling to find form, the Buccaneers might be tempted to bring the Congolese back especially if he impresses in Israel.

Another player who could return is Monnapule Saleng. The speedy winger is at Orbit College on a season loan, but if he finds the back of the net regularly, he could very well be back in Mayfair in January.

Can Pirates beat Downs for the league?
