Rwanda Coach Gives Friendly Advice To SA

Posted on October 15, 2025

Rwanda head coach Adel Amrouche has given a friendly advice to South Africa after they qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Bafana Bafana thumped Rwanda 3-0 in the last qualifying match at Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday evening, finishing on top of Group C with 18 points.

This is their first qualification since 2002 while their last participation in the tournament was in 2010 as hosts.

After the match, Amrouche advised South Africa to start preparing the next generation now, ensuring they are slowly integrated into the current Bafana setup.

He warned that there are “older players” in the team, stressing that SA must immediately begin introducing new blood to ensure their recent success is sustainable.

“I think Bafana are a good team,” said Amrouche in the post-match press conference.

“In your country, you’ve [always] had good [young players]. I remember that time when you had the likes of [Thulani] Serero under Serame [Letsoaka] when he was a coach.

“I think there’s a good generation now coming up, I think you must start to prepare the youth for the future because without young players, you go nowhere.

“You also have older players in the team, so you need fresh blood in your team.”
