Rulani Mokwena’s MC Alger made it nine games unbeaten and moved top of the Algerian Ligue 1 with a 1-0 win over Khenchela.
The Mokwena project which began a slow pace is starting to pick up real momemtum, following their qualification to the CAF Champions League group stage last week.
MCA have played six games in the league with five wins and one draw but were made to sweat for their latest three points with a 84th minute winner from forward Soufiane Bayazid.
The win moved them level on points with second placed JS Saoura – who have played three games more, and have 16 points, with two goals fewer than the reigning champions.
