Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa forward Lucas Ribeiro has made an admission that he doesn’t know what the future holds at the Spanish side after an offer was tabled for his services.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker left the South African champions unceremoniously at the end of last season after a long protracted saga to join Spanish second-tier outfit Cultural Leonesa.
The 27-year-old had a difficult start to the Spanish league but looks to have settled after nothing up four goals with two assists in 15 appearances across all competitions earning him the Five Star Player of the Month accolade for November.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday ahead of their Copa Del Rey tie against Levante UD this evening, at the Reino de León Stadium, Ribeiro admitted that his main focus is the current task at hand though he doesn’t know what will happen with his future.
“I’m very pleased with the Player of the Month award and thank you very much,” he said on the club’s YouTube page.
“The truth is I’m very happy at Cultural. I feel very happy here with my teammates, with the team and it’s a city that I love very much.
“I don’t know about my future. Of course there was a club that had on offer for me. I always leave those things to my agent to sort out.
“I’m very focused here on Cultural and well, I think things are going well. I’m very happy here but I don’t know what will happen with my future and I’m not really thinking about it much.
“I’m thinking now about Wednesday’s game [against Levante], which is a very important game.
“The truth is I’m very happy here and I don’t know what’s going to happen, but what matters is what happens.
“I’m really, really happy here and I hope things go well.”
