Relebohile Mofokeng to return for Orlando Pirates against Magesi?

Posted on October 27, 2025

Orlando Pirates could be boosted by the returning Relebohile Mofokeng ahead of their Carling Knockout quarter-final clash against Magesi FC on Tuesday.

The Buccaneers host Dikwena tsa Meetse at the Orlando Stadium, eyeing a semi-final spot. The Soweto giants come into the match having had a few days’ rest following a bruising cup encounter over the weekend.

The Sea Robbers were eliminated from CAF Champions League by the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Saint-Éloi Lupopo this past weekend.

Mofokeng’s return can inspire Pirates

Pirates have gone 10 matches without a defeat in the PSL and will look to extend the record. Assured performances on home soil have been a key feature of the Buccaneers’ recent success, and they’ll be eyeing an eighth straight win in front of their faithful horde of fans when they host Magesi.

Mofokeng is set to return to the Pirates match squad after missing several matches due to injury. The 21-year-old has not had the best of seasons, but is always instrumental in key matches and might be needed in the last 15 to 20 minutes.

In his absence, the likes of Tshepang Moremi and Oswin Appollis have stood out and cemented their place in the starting eleven.

With Mofokeng back from injury, the Pirates’ injury concerns are only Selaelo Rasebotja and Thabiso Sesane. The duo continue to work their way back to full fitness after their injury spells.

Pirates play Magesi at the Orlando Stadium on Tuesday, with the kick-off scheduled for 19:30.

Can Mofokeng rediscover his form?
