Released Kaizer Chiefs ace finally finds new team

Posted on January 12, 2026

Kaizer Chiefs have seen a number of talents come through their academy system over recent years.

Despite the undeniable quality of some of their graduates, most fail to crack it in their first team.

And now, a recently released Amakhosi academy star has joined a new club.L

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder joins new side

After going almost six months unemployed, former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Sabelo Radebe looks set to join a Motsepe Foundation Championship side.

The talented midfielder was released by the Glamour Boys at the beginning of the season.

Now, new reports suggest the 25-year-old midfielder has put pen-to-paper at Lerumo Lions FC.

The North West side sit in eight positions on the MFC log-standings. They’re just seven points behind log-leaders Milford at the half-way mark of the season.

“Radebe has signed a deal with North West-based Lerumo Lions as the club looks to reinforce their squad in a bid to challenge for the league title in the second tier,” a KickOff report read regarding the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder.

Radebe’s numbers in the PSL

Sabelo Radebe has shown signs of promise however, he’s struggled for consistency in the PSL.

At Kaizer Chiefs, he made just 18 appearances for the club, scoring one goal while assisting one more.

During his loan spell to Richards Bay FC during the 2024/25 campaign, he managed to make just three appearances for the Natal Rich Boys.

Radebe undoubtedly has the talent to succeed in the top-flight, however he needs to resurrect his career in South Africa’s second tier.
