Rele Reacts To Sekhukhune Draw

Posted on January 26, 2026

Orlando Pirates winger Relebohile Mofokeng believes that despite missing numerous chances against Sekhukhune United, he’s of the notion they did very well.

The Buccaneers missed on the chance to leapfrog Betway Premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns into first position after being held to a frustrating 0-0 stalemate by Babina Noko at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday.

Adeslam Ouaddou’s charges find themselves on equal points with Sundowns (29), though the Mayfair outfit have a game in hand.

Mofokeng applauded his colleagues for doing their best in claiming maximum points but admitted the opposition goalkeeper was equally up to the task while rallying the supporters to get behind them in this second round of the season.

“I think if it’s not your day, it’s not your day. We missed many chances,” Mofokeng told the Pirates media.

“When I’m on the bench sitting there, seeing my players missing chances, I just said, ‘Today is not our day’.

“But then I came on, tried to create more chances but then the goalkeeper saved many chances.

“So, I think we did our best. We did very well for the start of the game. I think we did very well.

“We need our supporters because the second half of the season is very important to us to stay there, to stay number one.

“We need them because they’re the ones that motivate us. We’ll need them in numbers.

“I think we’ll make them very happy at the coming games.”
