R9-million midfielder joins PSL rivals!

Posted on September 23, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs have just sent out this R9-million midfielder and fan favourite on loan to PSL rivals.

Kaizer Chiefs have sent out two players on loan to Siwelele FC.

One of them is talented midfielder Samkelo Zwane.

CHIEFS LOAN OUT MIDFIELDER ON TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY

Zwane has joined PSL rivals Siwelele FC on loan.

“On Monday, the deadline day, 22 September, the two clubs finalised a loan deal that will see Zwane and Mashiane play for the newly acquired team for the remainder of the 2025/26 season,” FarPost reported.

So, the skilful midfielder will spend the duration of the 2025/26 PSL campaign with Siwelele. Zwane is valued at over R9-million, according to TransferMarkt.

Zwane and Mashiane become Chiefs’ 13th and 14th departures of the PSL transfer window. They join these 12 Amakhosi departures who have left Naturena.

Both deals were finalised on transfer deadline day, with the transfer window now closed.

AMAKHOSI LOAN OUT FAN-FAVOURITE TO PSL RIVALS

As mentioned, Mashiane will join Zwane on loan to Siwelele.

“With their first-choice left back, Neo Rapoo, travelling to the FIFA Under-20 World Cup, Siwelele needed cover in that position. Mashiane’s arrival offers a solution, as he can play as a left back in addition to his natural position as an attacking winger. Siwelele also has Aphiwe Baliti as another option at left back,” the same publication added.

Meaning, Mashiane will provide cover for Rapoo. This also provides the Amakhosi defender with a chance to turn a new leaf following a frustrating few seasons with Amakhosi.

Mashiane was a fan-favourite and a regular under interim co-coaches Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard.

However, after his red card in the CAF Champions League final against Pitso Mosimane, everything changed. Mashiane fell out of favour with Zwane (as head coach), Cavin Johnson, Molefi Ntseki, and more recently, Nasreddine Nabi. Now, he has the chance to play more frequently and to prove his worth.
