Durban City have shown an interest in signing Kaizer Chiefs striker Tashreeq Morris on loan, iDiski Times has learnt.
The 31-year-old has been with Amakhosi for a couple of months after signing for the club from the now-defunct SuperSport United in January 2025.
The centre-forward played only 10 matches for the Phefeni Glamour Boys – nine in the Betway Premiership and one in the Nedbank Cup, and has not found the back of the net during his time there.
However, at times, he has been sidelined due to an injury he suffered in March last season, while he is yet to feature in 2025/26.
This website has been informed that City coach Gavin Hunt has requested to reunite with the player on loan with the possibility for a permanent transfer.
Morris still has a the current season and the next at Chiefs with his contract expiring in June 2027, having penned a two-year and a half in January.
‘The Citizens’ are looking for strengthen their striking department having been relying on the likes of Joslin Kamatuka and Jean Lwamba in the early stages of this season.
City have made several signings this season, reinforcing Hunt’s side after getting promotion to the top-flight.
Among the loanees they have brought on board include Taahir Goedeman [Durban City], Kyle Jurgens [Stellenbosch] and Patrick Autata [Cape Town City].
