Premier League: New season starts

The long wait for the start of the 2024/2025 Premier League season to kick off in England is over!

Action got under way on Friday, 16 August when Manchester United edged Fulham 1-0 at Old Trafford in the day’s only match.

There were another six fixtures on Saturday, while two took place on Sunday and one on Monday, 19 August.

Manchester City are the league’s defending champions, while Ipswich, Southampton and Leicester City clinched promotion to the Premier League this season.
