Pitso Mosimane to Kaizer Chiefs?

Posted on September 18, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs have parted ways with Nasreddine Nabi. Meanwhile, Pitso Mosimane is a free agent.

Kaizer Chiefs have decided to terminate Nasreddine Nabi’s contract.

Meaning, Amakhosi are in the market for a new head coach. Interestingly, Pitso Mosimane is a free agent.

CHIEFS IN THE MARKET FOR A NEW COACH

As reported on The South African, Chiefs have reportedly sacked Nasreddine Nabi.

“It’s understood the issues are around his CAF qualifications, meaning he would not be able to sit on the bench for any of their interclub competition fixtures this season – especially if they progress further,” the report on the SABC website added.

Meaning, Chiefs are in the market for a new coach. Assistant coaches Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze will take charge of the team on an interim basis until Chiefs appoint a new head coach.

Youssef and Kaze flourished when they took charge of Amakhosi at the start of the season. The duo took charge of Chiefs when Nabi was away (as he had to attend to personal issues).

They lead Chiefs to an unbeaten start with three wins and a draw in their first four matches. Furthermore, the draw came against defending BetWay Premiership champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.

PITSO MOSIMANE IS A FREE AGENT

Mosimane is currently a free agent.

Meaning, he is available to join any prospective club that makes him the right offer.

Therefore, Chiefs have a golden opportunity to sign Mosimane. This is because he is available, he is currently in South Africa and he previously stated that he is open to joining the Soweto giants.

Mosimane is one of the strongest possible candidates for the Chiefs hot seat. He is arguably one of, if not the most widely-respected coaches in South African football. Now, he is available with Amakhosi on the lookout for a new coach. If there is anyone capbale of returning Chiefs’ to their glory days, it is Mosimane.
