Pirates & Stellies Clash In DDC Blockbuster, Chiefs Seek Redemption

Posted on October 17, 2025

In a mouthwatering DStv Diski Challenge clash, league leaders Orlando Pirates will host title contenders Stellenbosch FC while Kaizer Chiefs take on struggling Marumo Gallants.

Pirates aim to extend their winning run to six matches when they face title contenders Stellenbosch on Saturday. The Buccaneers remain the only side yet to taste defeat this season with Roscoe Krieling’s side scoring in each and every game they’ve played this season.

Meanwhile, Stellies have already suffered two defeats but are on a good run having won two games in row. A clash between the two sides always produced goals and the last time it ended in a goalless draw was in 2022.

Sundowns will host stubborn Golden Arrows. Downs have won two games in succession and three points behind league leaders Pirates. Arrows also haven’t found the groove yet as they have lost five of their first six games and find themselves at the bottom of the league table.

Two strugglers in Chiefs and Marumo Gallants will face each on Sunday. Amakhosi have gone four matches without a win after a defeat against TS Galaxy and AmaZulu FC before two consecutive draws against Siwelele FC and Sekhukhune United. The defending champions find themselves in ninth position. Gallants have already suffered four league defeats this season and managed only two wins.
