After another standout performance, including a hat-trick against TS Galaxy, the Orlando Pirates midfielder is being tipped as a serious contender for Footballer of the Season.
His numbers back it up, seven goals and five assists, making it 12 direct goal involvements so far.

Mofokeng has now won the Player of the Month award twice in a row, covering February and March, which shows just how consistent he has been.
Former Pirates striker Phumudzo Manenzhe believes that if the season ended now, the decision would be easy. “I agree with Matthew [Booth], to say I would go with Rele Mofokeng,” Manenzhe said.
STRONG BACKING FOR TOP AWARD
“It’s not every week that we see a player getting Man of the Match, having scored three goals. It’s hard to find a hattrick inthe PSL. Therefore, I will still say to you, the President (Mofokeng) did so well against TS Galaxy,” he said.
Manenzhe made it clear, for him, the race is already decided. “The way Rele is playing, I would give him the Footballer of the Season Award today. If the season ended today, I would give it Rele Mofokeng.”

TITLE RACE AND INDIVIDUAL BATTLE
However, the competition is still strong. Mamelodi Sundowns striker Iqraam Rayners is right there, with 10 goals and three assists, just one involvement more.
With several matches still to play, the race is far from over. But right now, Mofokeng has momentum.
