Pirates Provide Injury Update For Downs Tie

Posted on February 18, 2026

Orlando Pirates have no fresh injury concerns with the exception of defenders Tapelo Xoki and Thabiso Lebitso for tonight’s crunch Betway Premiership clash against Mamelodi Sundowns at FNB Stadium.

The top-of-the-table meeting at the Calabash promises to be an electrifying affair with the Buccaneers currently leading the log standings with 38 points to Sundowns’ 32.

While Masandawana have Bathusi Aubaas suspended for this evening’s match, Pirates have no suspension issues but will be without Xoki and Lebitso who are still recovering from their respective injuries.

“They head to their assignment against the Tshwane Giants with no fresh suspension worries, while the likes of Tapelo Xoki and Thabiso Lebitso continue to recover from their respective injuries,” Pirates said on their official website.

The match gets underway at 19:30 at FNB Stadium, with Stadium Management South Africa expecting 60 000 fans.

The Buccaneers could go nine points clear off Sundowns, should they win, with Masandawana having a game in hand.

Pirates are unbeaten in their last four games against the defending champions, although three ended in 1-1 draws, with the Buccaneers winning their last Betway Premiership home match 2-1.

They recently became the first Premier Soccer League side to win 11 successive home matches across all competitions, a record previously held by Stuart Baxter with Kaizer Chiefs, who had won 10.

The home side come off their 3-0 win over Marumo Gallants, while Sundowns had a morale-boosting 2-0 over MC Alger in the CAF Champions League, which saw them qualify for the quarter-finals.
