Pirates & Polokwane City Starting XIs Announced

Orlando Pirates and Polokwane City have announced their starting line-ups for this afternoon’s first MTN8 quarter-final clash at Orlando Stadium.

Pirates’ MTN8 title defence starts with a clash against Polokwane City, who will be participating in this competition for the second successive season since gaining promotion.

Abdeslam Ouaddou, who is the new Pirates head coach, starts his journey after Jose Riveiro’s exit from the club, ending his three-year tenure.

City aim to progress to the next round of the MTN8 for the first time after they were eliminated at the very same stage by Mamelodi Sundowns last season. But they will have to start life without star-man Oswin Appollis.

Pirates have been dominating this fixture, as they’ve never lost since 2017. Rise and Shine have all to fight for today.

Here is how they line up:

Pirates XI: Chaine, Shandu, Sibisi, Mbokazi, Hotto, Nduli, Mbule, Maswanganyi, Mofokeng, Appollis, Radiopane

Subs: Dladla, Dansin, Sebelebele, Mariko, Xoki, Dlamini, Moremi, Mbuthuma, Mashiloane

PLK City XI: Bwire, Manthosi, Gwangqa, Nikani, Nkaki, Batlhabane, Maphangule, Ramabu, Mashiane, Moremi, Dlamini

Subs: Makhavhu, Makhubela, Motsa, Mvundela, Goovadia, Kelepu, Sebone, Malepe, Marema
