Pirates Give Update On Mofokeng, Xoki & Van Rooyen

Posted on October 21, 2025

Orlando Pirates have provided the latest injury update on trio Relebohile Mofokeng, Tapelo Xoki and Deano van Rooyen.

The Buccaneers will lock horns with Polokwane City in the Betway Premiership clash on Wednesday evening at the Orlando Stadium.

They enter this match limping after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Saint-Éloi Lupopo in their recent CAF Champions League outing in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

However, the Sea Robbers are looking to make it six consecutive league wins as they continue their impressive run locally.

The club has revealed that Mofokeng, who missed the Champions League match against Lupopo, may also be unavailable for selection against Rise and Shine.

Meanwhile, both Xoki and van Rooyen, who have been watching from the stands for a while, may not be available options for coach Abdeslam Ouaddou either.

“They could still be without attacking midfielder Relebohile Mofokeng, who sat out the trip to West Africa, along with the likes of Deano van Rooyen and Tapelo Xoki who have both been on the sidelines over the past few weeks,” the club announced via their website.

Pirates are third in the league standings with 15 points accumulated so far after seven matches played.
