Pirates Give Injury Update On 3 Stars

Posted on August 25, 2025

Orlando Pirates have confirmed that former captain Olisa Ndah is back in contention after his long-term injury, while Deano van Rooyen remains doubtful.

Ndah, 27, last featured for the Buccaneers in September 2024 after picking up a tibia and fibula fracture, which ruled him out for the rest of the season.

After head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou already indicated Ndah will return to the squad soon, Pirates have now confirmed he is cleared to return to the squad.

“Pirates been boosted by the imminent return of defender Olisa Ndah, who has been back at training while,” the club stated on their website.

Meanwhile, Van Rooyen as well as Nkosinathi Sibisi remain doubts.

“For the home side, Deano van Rooyen is again among the doubtful starters after he took no part in cup action on Saturday, following an injury sustained in his side’s last league game,” the club continued.

“Captain Nkosinathi Sibisi continues to recover from a knock picked up earlier in the season.”

Pirate host ORBIT College on Tuesday at Orlando Stadium, with Monnapule Saleng along with Thuso Moleleki and Yanga Madiba not allowed to face their parent club.
