Pirates Continue With Their Winning Streak

Posted on October 11, 2025

Orlando Pirates extended their winning streak to five matches after coming from a goal down to beat Lamontville Golden Arrows, while Stellenbosch FC left it late to beat TS Galaxy.

Stellenbosch kicked off the Saturday fixtures away from home against Galaxy. The Cape Winelands side walked away with massive three points, making it their second successive win after beating the Rockets 2-1.

In the KwaZulu Natal derby, Daine Klate’s Durban City welcomed Richards Bay. The Natalie Richards Boys took the lead after 19 minutes through striker Ntlonelo Bomelo.

Bay had chances and dominated the game but failed to make it count and they went to regret after on form Luphumlo Sifumba scored a cracker to equalise with only three minutes remaining before final whistle. The two KZN sides shared the spoils, as Bay remained in second position.

Arrows closed the Saturday against Pirates and Abafana Bes’thende took the lead as early as 12 minutes after Sfundo Shezi scored the opening goal.

Kagiso Dikgacoi’s went to the break with the 1-0 lead and Pirates had all to play for in the second half. After the 60th minute Pirates equalised through Moses Mphekgoane. It was wave after wave before the Buccaneers received a penalty in the 75th minute after Orantile Rantasi was brought down in the box. Thuto Sesipi took the penalty but Owami Dlamini became the hero as he saved the penalty to keep the score at 1-1.

When all thought Pirates’ winning run was coming to an end, with two minutes remaining from the normal time, Pirates caught Arrows on the counter attack and Orantile Rantasi scored a thunderbolt to beat Owami Dlamini to make it 2-1.

The Buccaneers move to 16 points, three points away second placed Richards Bay.

All Saturday results:

  • TS Galaxy 1-2 Stellenbosch FC
  • Durban City 1-1 Richards Bay
  • Lamontville Golden Arrows  1-2 Orlando Pirates
