Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou understands the angry club supporters after losing the two opening league matches against Sekhukhune United and Marumo Gallants.
Ouaddou’s tenure at Pirates started on a good note after beating Polokwane City 2-0 in the MTN8 quarterfinal in front of a sold-out crowd at Orlando Stadium. A week later, Pirates suffered a 1-0 defeat against Sekhukhune United at the same venue before the Buccaneers suffered their second consecutive league defeat against Gallants away from home.
Pirates supporters showed their unhappiness through social media platforms as Pirates sit second from the bottom after match day two and Ouaddou explained that he understands the anger of the supporters because the club is expected to win and they are a big club.
“Like I said to you when you come to such a big institution, which is playing for titles, who are playing for competitions of course there’s a lot of expectations,” he told the media after their shock defeat to Gallants.
“I understand the fans it’s normal and we understand them when a club loses two games in a row it’s normal they won’t be happy, and we are not happy as well to lose.”
