
Orlando Pirates have dislodged Kaizer Chiefs to move into second place after a 3-1 win over Golden Arrows at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
The deadlock was broken by an own goal from Arrows skipper Ayanda Jiyane in the 23rd minute. Abafana Bes’thende‘s Thokozani Khumalo found the leveller in the 73rd minute before the Buccaneers’ substitute Yanela Mbuthuma restored the lead in the 74th minute. The 23-year-old sealed his brace after a sublime assist from Relebohile Mofokeng on 87 minutes.

The result maintained the Sea Robbers’ unbeaten run in the league at eight matches: seven wins and a draw. For the losing Arrows, it was their first home defeat in four games.
The win has lifted Orlando Pirates from fourth place to second position. Kaizer Chiefs dropped to third due to the Buccaneers’ 14 goals, while Amakhosi have 13. Amabhakabhaka, who have two games in hand, are now just two points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
