Pirates Announce Starting XI To Face Sundowns

Orlando Pirates have announced their starting line-up by head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou for their clash with Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 semi-final first leg.

Following back-to-back Betway Premiership defeats, the Buccaneers aim to put get back to winning ways in the club and continue their trophy defence against their old foes.

But the pressure is already rising on new head coach Ouaddou whose selections have been questioned. 

On their road to the semi-final, the Sea Robbers eliminated Polokwane City in the quarter-final, beating them 2-0 thanks to goals from Oswin Appollis and Patrick Maswanganyi.

The two Pirates defeat came against Sekhukhune United in a 1-0 loss at home before suffering a 2-1 defeat at Marumo Gallants.

In the 59 meetings between the two sides, Pirates managed to win 20 with Thulasizwe Mbuyane being their top goalscorer in this fixture for Pirates after scoring five goals.

Pirates XI: Chaine, Seema, Mbokazi, Van Rooyen, Hotto, Nduli, Mbatha, Maswanganyi, Sebelebele, Mofokeng, Makgopa

Subs: Dladla, Radiopane, Mariko, Xoki, Mbule, Dlamini, Appollis, Moremi, Ndaba
