Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile has finally equalled Siyabonga Nomvethe‘s long-standing PSL record.
On Wednesday, Shalulile netted his 129th goal since plying his trade in South Africa as Sundowns beat Magesi FC 2-0.
This means the Namibia international is now a goal away from setting a new record for most goals scored by a single player in the PSL era.
What’s interesting is that Shalulile achieved this feat with fewer competitive games played compared to Nomvethe.
The 31-year-old scored 27 goals for the Highlands Park before moving to Sundowns in 2020 and scoring 102 goals in 208 matches for them.
Rumours of Shalulile possibly leaving Sundowns for greener pastures continue to hog media headlines.
