Ouaddou – Why We Don’t Need A New Striker In Jan

Posted on December 15, 2025

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou says that he doesn’t need a new striker in January after the recovery of Sifiso Luthuli.

Ouaddou claimed his third trophy this in a space of six months since joining Pirates after the Buccaneers beat the Carling All Stars 2-0 to lift the Carling Black Label Cup.

The two goals were scored by two strikers that haven’t got much game-time this season – Luthuli and Boitumelo Radiopane.

Luthuli, 24, is coming from reserve side and was injured for most of the campaign, with Ouaddou insisting that perhaps they don’t need to look for a new striker because they’ve found another gem in the club.

“About Luthuli, sometimes you don’t need two weeks or one month to see a good player unfortunately he was injured for a long time. But definitely he is a player who can surprise many people in the second part of the season,” Ouaddou told the media.

“I was with Mr Robert Marawa on his show, he was asking me what are my wishes for the second half of the season – I said maybe a striker but I think I have to say that we don’t need striker we have one at the club and we will do with him.

“He is a good player.”
