Ouaddou On Pirates Dominating Bafana Squad

Posted on November 10, 2025

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has weighed in on his side dominating the recently called up Bafana Bafana squad.

Nine Buccaneers players were included in the South Africa national team 23-man squad set to take on Zambia in the FIFA international friendly match.

The match will take place on Saturday, 15 November at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha, serving as a preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to take place in Morocco.

The players selected from Pirates to join the national squad are Sipho Chaine, Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Masindi Nemtajela, Thalente Mbatha, Sipho Mbule, Evidence Makgopa, Oswin Appollis, and Tshepang Moremi.

Ouaddou expressed his delight at the selections, commending the club for creating the perfect platform that allows their players’ talent to be recognised and exposed.

“First of all, I’d like to congratulate them because when you’re a part of the national team, you have to be proud,” said Ouaddou.

“It means that you have been selected among the best in your country. It shows as well that our club is working well.

“The club is creating the right environment for the players to perform. So, we are proud as a club and as a technical staff.

“We will support them 1000% for playing for the country.”
