Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou says they need to keep believing in Tshepo Mashiloane after his debut for the club on the opening game of the season.
Mashiloane, 23, made his first official appearance for Pirates since his off-season transfer from Baroka and had an indifferent display as he looked off the pace in a heated game against Sekhukhune United.
With the Buccaneers losing 1-0, Ouaddou’s decisions came under the microscope, but he explained the new recruit was handed his first start as they looked to combat the aerial prowess of Babina Noko.
“It was a choice regarding the opponent, we knew they were very dangerous on the set-pieces and we wanted to bring some height in our team,” Ouaddou said about the decision on the debutant.
“Mashiloane, had an interesting game, he was interesting, we have to give him credit and keep believing in him.”
Pirates now turn their attention to Ouaddou’s former club Marumo Gallants, who they face at the Dr Molemela Stadium tomorrow evening.
