Ouaddou On Dansin Wonder Goal & Selection

Posted on November 2, 2025

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou admitted he took a big risk to start Cemran Dansin but he will keep on playing young players after he was rewarded with a stunning equaliser.

Dansin, 20, was the surprise selection in Pirates’ midfield, with Ouaddou leaving the likes of Patrick Maswanganyi and Sipho Mbule on the bench.

However, the youngster repaid the coach’s faith with a stunning equaliser after Peter Shalulile had opened the scoring.

Ouaddou admitted after the match that people would’ve criticised his selection had it backfired, but insisted he will keep on giving young players a chance.

“It’s difficult for a coach, because if we had lost the game all people are saying ‘but the coach, he put a player without experience’,” he told SuperSport TV.

“But as a coach I have worked in development for five to six years, you have to give chances to huge South African talents, to give them the opportunity to shine.

“It’s what we did today in a very important game. I think this guys, it’s a big experience and now it will give him the chance to grow.

“That’s what I’m going to do, I give chances to the youth, especially South African youth who have the talent. We need to give them chances.”
