Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has confirmed that midfielder Patrick Maswanganyi is back in training and available for selection when they take on Stellenbosch FC in the MTN8 final.

Maswanganyi picked a knock in Pirates’ last league match against Chippa United two weeks ago – a game where he scored and missed a penalty but had to withdraw from the Bafana Bafana squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Nigeria.

Ouaddou confirmed that the club’s medical team have given ‘Tito’ the green light and he is happy to have the player back in the fold.

“Yes, if you can see him on the pitch, it means that medical department gave him the green light to be there,” said Ouaddou.

“So yeah, I’m happy that he is coming back. It [the injury] seems not to be so serious. So, all the time when my players are injured, I’m very sad.

“So, I’m happy that he is with us.”
