Otoho Coach – Why I’m Very Sad After Stellies Loss

Posted on November 25, 2025

AS Otoho head coach Sekou Seck has expressed sadness after his side lost their opening CAF Confederation Cup Group C match to Stellenbosch FC in Polokwane on Sunday.

Otoho looked like they could score first especially in the first half but a solid Stellies defense frustrated them on the afternoon. With the game looking like it was going to end in goalless stalemate, it was the homes side’s substitutes that were the difference bringing in a late goal to settle the encounter in injury time.

The result saw Stellies in second position tied on three points with CR Belouizdad who won 2-0 over Singida Black Stars. Otoho are third just ahead of the Tanzanian side.

Seck said after the game that he was very sad but was not going to dwell much on the result either.

“Very, very sad for this match,” said Seck.

“Because Stellenbosch, they scored us at the end of the game. We are very sad; it’s our first time to lose in this competition and we can forget about this and project our next game.”

The Congolese outfit’s next outing in the tournament is against CRB at home next Sunday.
