Orlando Pirates vs Mamelodi Sundowns: Match day guide

FNB Stadium will host a blockbuster under-the-lights Betway Premiership clash on Wednesday evening as Orlando Pirates take on Mamelodi Sundowns.

Supporters are encouraged to arrive early and familiarise themselves with key match-day information to ensure a smooth and enjoyable stadium experience.

Digital Ticketing Rollout

This fixture marks the official launch of the new MyTicket digital ticketing platform, introduced to streamline stadium access and improve convenience for fans.

Season ticket holders can rest assured that all existing barcodes have been successfully migrated and remain active.

How to Access Your Digital Season Ticket:

  • Register on the MyTicket website or mobile app
  • Link your Season Ticket
  • Your ticket will appear in your device’s digital wallet

Season ticket holders will enter via Gate C, with all associated benefits remaining unchanged.

Traffic and Access

Strict traffic management measures will be implemented by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD), including road closures around the stadium precinct.

Gates open at 15:30, with peak traffic control expected from 14:00. Vehicles parked in non-designated areas will be towed.

Match Day Entertainment

Fans can look forward to a vibrant match day atmosphere, including activations and giveaways courtesy of partners Vodacom and aQuellè.

The Orlando Pirates Store will also be open, offering the latest official club merchandise.

Entertainment will begin before kick-off, with Kamu Dee headlining the pre-match show and Malemon performing at half-time.

Prohibited Items

For the safety of all spectators, the following items are strictly prohibited:

  • Weapons
  • Fireworks, flares and smoke bombs
  • Braai equipment and sharp objects
  • Offensive banners or flags
  • Political material
  • Any item deemed dangerous by SAPS or stadium security

Supporters are urged to cooperate with security officials to ensure a safe and enjoyable evening for all.

With two South African heavyweights set to collide, all signs point to an electric atmosphere in Soweto on Wednesday night.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
