Orlando Pirates transfers: FIVE arrivals, THREE exits?

Posted on January 6, 2026

Orlando Pirates are strongly linked with more arrivals after the long-expected signing of Andre De Jong from Stellies.

There is expected to be activity in both directions this summer.

Orlando Pirates to sign five more big names?

Khulumani Ndamane

TS Galaxy’s 21-year-old central defender is a classy operator and not even close to his peak.

Siyanda Ndlovu

The 23-year-old Golden Arrows winger offers pace and directness. He would also be a good backup for the existing options, especially if Rele Mofokeng leaves.

Puso Dithejane

This term, versatile 21-year-old Puso Dithejane has taken his output up a notch with four goals and four assists from 12 starts in the league for TS Galaxy. Although Pirates have an abundance of quality wingers, there’s a growing belief that Rele Mofokeng’s long-term future lies away from the club. Dithejane’s ability to play anywhere on the right-hand side or even in central midfield

Mfanafuthi Mkhize

Dutban City’s Mfanafuthi Mkhize has been an ever-present for the PSL newcomers this season, appearing in all 15 of their league matches. The 27-year-old would be a solid, ready-made replacement for the departed Mbokazi.

Daniel Msendani

25-year-old Marumo Gallants striker Daniel Msendani has hinted at making his next big move. He scored three goals and assisted three for Gallants last term.

Three players considering their Orlando Pirates futures

Tshegofatso Mabasa

29-year-old Tshegofatso Mabasa is at a crossroads. Once the most lethal marksman in the country, he’s now playing second and even third fiddle to Evidence Makgopa and Yanela Mbuthuma. This fall down the pecking order also saw his chances of a Bafana Bafana recall go up in flames at an inopportune time. Mabasa’s only made five league appearances all season. Some fans seem happy to say goodbye, while others are concerned that Mabasa’s undoubted class will see him succeed at a club like Kaizer Chiefs.

Deano van Rooyen

Right-back Deano Van Rooyen is now firmly installed as second-choice in the right-back position behind Thabiso Lebitso. Van Rooyen did struggle with injuries early in the campaign, but has been an unused substitute in the club’s last three matches. He started against Richards Bay in the Carling Knockout semis, but is generally overlooked for any big games in the league, and he returned to being an unused sub in the Carling Knockout final win.

Kabelo Dlamini

How much longer will the 29-year-old accept a bit-part role for the Sea Robbers? Always reliable and effective when called upon from the bench in several midfield roles, Dlamini hardly starts matches. He might think now is the time to make a move to play more football as he reaches his 30s.
