Orlando Pirates transfer matters: Relebohile Mofokeng

Orlando Pirates haven’t exactly flown out of the blocks under new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, and naturally, all eyes have turned to one of their brightest talents, Relebohile Mofokeng.

The 20-year-old attacker was recognised as one of the top three players in the PSL last season, earning nominations for both the Players’ Player and Footballer of the Season awards.

Although Mamelodi Sundowns star Lucas Ribeiro Costa won both accolades, Mofokeng’s star remained bright.

New Kaizer Chiefs star: I want big crowds

While Mofokeng has been hotly linked with a move abroad, Orlando Pirates’ two opening defeats have done nothing to avoid questions on whether the uncertainty affects his football on the grass.

“I don’t know what’s happening to my boy but he will be okay, I don’t know because people are talking,” Nkota responded on that particular question when asked on Metro FM Sports.

Analyst sends a warning to Kaizer Chiefs

Following Nkota’s unexpected move to Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, has this affected Mofokeng’s morale?

“No, he’s not affected,” said Orlando Pirates legend Edward Motale. “Nkota came in while Mofokeng was already established in the senior team,” Motale told this publication.

“So nothing is gonna affect Mofokeng. Me, I don’t entertain rumours,” Motale added.
