Orlando Pirates to close out 2025 in style, Chiefs surge up the table

Posted on November 5, 2025

Orlando Pirates have seen Kaizer Chiefs collect a win in midweek and climb above the Buccaneers on the league table.

Pirates can leapfrog their Soweto rivals once more if they avoid defeat to Golden Arrows on Wednesday with the first of their TWO games in hand.

Here’s what fans expect for the remainder of 2025.

Orlando Pirates face tough midweek trip to Arrows

Next up is a clash with Golden Arrows, the first of four remaining league fixtures and five across all competitions this year. Between the match below against Richards Bay on 2 December and their next outing, Pirates will have a whopping 53 days to wait until their next assignment, a trip to Sekhukhune on 24 January 2026. Pirates will be able to call upon the services of key duo Relebohile Mofokeng and Simphiwe Selepe for their trip to Arrows.

Mofokeng returns for Pirates

After dazzling in recent seasons, 2025-2026 has been one of the first hurdles for 21-year-old Relebohile Mofokeng to negotiate. The star wide player, who also excels in the number 10 role, has yet to assist or score for the Buccaneers this season. Form is temporary and class is permanent, however. Rele already has 41 direct goal contributions after 101 outings for the Sea Robbers.
