Orlando Pirates target hints at snubbing transfer to Soweto giants!

Posted on November 26, 2025

Orlando Pirates could be dealt a big blow in their rumoured pursuit of their long-term target in January.

Pirates made a whole host of signing in the previous window and may already have a plan for the next.

Pirates might need Mbokazi replacement

Well, they may need to as their reportedly on the verge of losing one of their key players in Mbekezeli Mbokazi. The 20-year-old is reportedly set to leave Pirates for a lucrative move to MLS side Chicago Fire in January, that That could possibly leave a huge gap in central defence for the Buccaneers. Rumour has it they have already identified Stellenbosch FC defender Thabo Moloisane as an alternative.

But now having recently clocked his 100th appearance for Stellenbosch over the weekend, Moloisane might have other ideas. He spoke about wanting to make even more appearance for the Cape Winelands side, in a possible hint that he is staying put at least for the January window, snubbing Pirates.

Target Moloisane seems content to stay at Stellenbosch FC

“I mean, look, this is the club I really love so much. So, as long as I’m fit and the coach believes in me, I think I can reach 500 appearances. The 100-milestone shows that when you put in the hard work, you can go far. Stellenbosch believed in me from the get-go when I set foot in the team. I’m very proud of what I have achieved with the club. I’m excited that I have made my 100th appearance for this wonderful team, with a win and a clean sheet. This shows the right building blocks just after the FIFA international break. The brotherhood in the team also played a role in my success. When I got here, they made it easier for me to acclimatise to the environment very quickly and easily.” Moloisane said about his landmark appearance as per FAR Post.

Do you need him Buccaneers?

Things can change quickly in football, but that doesn’t sound like someone leaving for Pirates in January. Buccaneers, do you need Moloisane in the next window? Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.
