Orlando Pirates starting 11 vs Magesi FC

Posted on January 31, 2026

Orlando Pirates kick off the new era at the newly renamed and sold out Orlando Amstel Arena, with an opportunity to move up from fourth to second position behind Mamelodi Sundowns, who will be ahead only on goal difference.

The Buccaneers are looking for their first victory of 2026 after the goalless draw against Sekhukhune United in Polokwane last weekend.

Meanwhile, the visitors, Magesi FC, are rock bottom since the 1-0 loss to Sekhukhune on 3 December before the AFCON 2025 break.

TOP VS BOTTOM

Orlando Pirates are in the league title chat after clocking 29 points from 13 matches, having won nine, drawn two and lost just twice.

Under Abdeslam Ouaddou, the Sea Robbers have already lifted silverware this season with the MTN8 and Carling Knockout Cup in December.

Orlando Pirates have been stellar in both boxes, with 18 goals scored and only five conceded.

Magesi FC, meanwhile, are finding life in the top flight far less forgiving. The Limpopo outfit are rooted to the bottom of the standings in 16th place with 11 points from 14 games, after managing just two wins all season. A five-match winless run has deepened the pressure.
