Orlando Pirates star with 43 goal contributions ‘too good for SA’

Posted on December 2, 2025

Orlando Pirates will feel that 2025/26 is their season. Success in this campaign, however, might spark a mini exodus.

Relebohile Mofokeng has been linked with several foreign clubs.

However, the 21-year-old stayed put while fellow Bafana Bafana winger Mohau Nkota swapped South Africa for Saudi Arabia.

Mofokeng finds his feet after a slow start to the season

Youngster Relebohile Mofokeng has 43 direct goal contributions after 105 outings for the Sea Robbers.

Mofokeng claimed an assist against Durban City, his second of the campaign, after an uncharacteristically slow start to the season.

He was the man of the match against Gavin Hunt’s KwaZulu-Natal side, too. Some fans and pundits think Mofokeng needs to move abroad to maximise his potential.

Orlando Pirates go top, but will they stay there?

The Sea Robbers are currently top of the Betway Premiership after a 2-0 win away to Durban City with goals from Evidence Makgopa and Patrick Maswanganyi.

Sipho Mbule is the talk of the town after a pair of assists for Bafana Bafana in the recent friendly against Zambia.

However, time will tell if the 27-year-old can deliver the goods in the final third in meaningful matches over the course of a season.

He has been included in Bafana Bafana’s 2025 AFCON squad.
